Automatic Calculation
The Automatic Loading Algorithm is the core feature that determines how items are placed inside the selected space. It ensures that items are arranged efficiently and in accordance with their physical properties and defined rules.
Selecting a Space
The first step in generating a load plan is to select an appropriate space from the Spaces tab in the top menu. Once selected, the space will be displayed in the load plan view in 3D with its dimensions. This view represents the working area for preparing the load plan, and all items you add will be arranged according to the space’s measurements and capacity.
Adding Items
After selecting a space, proceed to the Items tab to define the products to be included in the load plan.
- Each item’s dimensions, weight, and other properties are specified.
- Added items are automatically arranged by the algorithm to achieve the most optimal geometric fit according to the defined rules.
Reloading the Plan
Changes made in the Items panel are not reflected in the load plan immediately.
- Clicking the Load button runs the algorithm again, re-optimizing the placement of all items in the plan.
Loading Strategy Options
1. Controlling Load Order
This setting lets you choose between preserving the manual item sequence you define or maximizing loading efficiency by allowing the system to determine the optimal order.

Keep Item Order
When selected, CargoLoader3D respects the sequence you’ve manually defined while still applying smart placement optimization. This ensures that critical loading or unloading order is maintained without sacrificing overall space efficiency.
- Places items without breaking your defined sequence
- Balances manual order with intelligent optimization
- Ideal for shipments where loading/unloading order is operationally important
Ignore Item Order
When this option is enabled (and it is the default setting), CargoLoader3D disregards the manually defined sequence and automatically determines the most efficient loading order. It focuses on achieving the best possible space, weight, and balance distribution.
- Maximizes overall loading efficiency by fully optimizing placement and order
- Ignores manual sequence, focusing only on best space and weight distribution
- Ideal when order of loading is not operationally important
2. Priority Between Groups
After an item is created in the left panel under the Items tab, it appears in the list associated with its group. Each item entry shows a count tracker on the right (e.g., 0/1+), indicating how many units of that item have been placed in the current load plan. This setting lets you choose between organizing items for multi-stop deliveries or maximizing overall space efficiency during loading.

Enable Grouping
When Enable Grouping is selected, CargoLoader3D organizes items by their delivery groups, ensuring an efficient unloading sequence.
- Always loads items in batches, placing groups for later deliveries toward the back of the container.
- Perfect for shipments with multiple delivery stops.
- Reduces unnecessary unloading effort by keeping early-stop items accessible.
Ignore Grouping
When Ignore Grouping is selected, CargoLoader3D ignores group order and focuses purely on optimal space and weight distribution.
- Maximizes overall space efficiency.
- Does not consider unloading order.
- Best suited for single-destination shipments where delivery sequence is not important.
3. Right-Side Load Settings Panel
Weight Limit
This setting specifies whether weight limits are considered during load planning. For loading spaces with axles (e.g., lorry, semi-trailer, or trailer), the system checks that axle weight limits are not exceeded. For container spaces, the system checks against the container’s maximum payload capacity.

Ruler
If an item’s physical dimensions or behavior checkboxes are changed after it has been added to the load plan, the + icon becomes disabled. This is because the modified item is considered a new variant. To re-enable adding:
